Altered Convention Make & Takes

Hello there!  I have been taking a bit of a blogging break since we have been super busy the past week or so getting ready for Back to School time, I have some pictures to share with you below after you check out these great cards.

I did find some time to stamp with my sister in law Amber which is always fun.  I waited to do my convention make and takes until she was able come over and do some as well.  Most of the projects we did just as planned, but the Affection Collection M&T's we made a bit different.  Anne Marie Hile inspired us with her post HERE, Anne Marie also made the "planned" card for comparison.

Amber's card is the primrose petals card on the left, and Mine is the midnight muse on the right.

Amber used the planned colors but changed up the border punch and used the new lacy brocade embossing folder.  She also embossed a square of midnight muse for behind the friend sentiment panel to break up the colors a bit.  A very cute vintage look.

Here is my card.  I wanted to take out the yellow colors and give mine some added sparkle.  I used the new early espresso embossing powder for the main Affection Collection stamp.  I also used the french foliage stamp set for some vintage inspired distressing.  Some new champagne glimmer paper adds some sparkle.

Here are the cards again side by side, see how much you can change up a basic layout using different colors and supplies.  Both are beautiful, but have different looks.

OK, now on to what has been keeping us very busy over the last past two weeks:

Mackie cheered her very first high school football game. Notice the little photo bomber in the right hand corner.

Tate met a new friend at the game, and had a fun time finding rocks

Tate ready to take sissy to school, he had to grab a pack-pack too.

Modeling the new back to school pack-packs (yes, I will make a card using Mackie's cool new backpack as inspiration)

I have a picture of Mackie standing by the front door on her first day of school every year since kindergarten.  I am going to have to do a scrapbook layout of all of these pictures once I get them all together.

My husband had a birthday, and Amber's little girl, my sweet niece Josie turned one.  We have been going non stop, but now that Mac's back in school, Tate and I have a little better schedule, so look for more frequent posts from me.

I hope you enjoyed all of the sharing today, I know that I have a great project planned for my Wednesday's Stampin' Royalty challenge, so come back then for a look.  Enjoy!
