2012 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop-Day 1

Hello there! Today I am launching my series of Artisan award entries. The ten of us ladies that were not chosen for the artisan design team got together and came up with a blog hop to showcase our non winning entries.

I really want to let you all know how much I appreciate all of your kind words both before and after the winners were announced. Each and every comment or email was read and cherished, you all are fabulous, and I adore you all.

Now on to the cards. I will post each day for the next ten days, so sit back and relax and enjoy some of what has become my favorite projects. Each day, I will follow Amy O'Neill and I will send you on to Amy Rogers, if you get lost, just click on the line up below.

This is the very first card that I wanted to share with you.  At convention, this card was missing most of the front main panel.  I don't know what happened to it, it was a bit disappointing seeing it miss such a main part of the card, but that's OK, I have pictures!

I found the inspiration for this card from those very trendy lace dresses that are in style now.  I wanted to recreate that look.  I used naturals ivory card stock embossed with the square lattice folder.  I then attached a black paper doily sizzlits die cut and really tried to embed it to make it look like one piece of card stock.  Some black satin ribbon was pleated and stuck to the back.

Many different layers went into the sentiment, here is a close up look of them all.  The circle from the Artistic Etchings stamp set was used as my stamped background, and the Word Play stamp set provided my sentiment.

This is cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon that was attached to a piece of card stock and embossed with the now retired final press embossing folder.  I did the same to the bow, just without the card stock.  I love this Mocha Morning SDPS, it is so elegant and just provided the right look.

There are a lot of products and different techniques used on this card, so if you have any questions, please let me know, as long as I have your email address, I will email you back.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired!  Hop on over to see what the wonderful Amy Rogers has planned for you at Amy's Stampin Creations.  See you tomorrow!

Just by you getting your inspiration from a trendy dress and duplicating it into paper art makes you an Artisan in My Book! Stunning card with all of it's texture & ruffle!
