A for Effort

Hello there!  Today's card is my Goddess card for the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog.  This week's challenge is a picture challenge, take a look at the picture, see what inspires you, create something fabulous and head on over to link it up.

This is such a pretty picture, I don't know how I ended up where I finished.  I did know that I loved the striped stand and wanted to recreate it.  I grabbed some new supplies that were sitting on my table and went to work.  We have been so so busy here that my card was left to the last minute, and like it or not, the deadline was here and the card had to be done.

Smoky slate, crushed curry and strawberry slush were the colors that I used.

A bermuda bay paper bow with a basic gray taffeta bow adds some dimension.
When I showed my card to Chris and Mackie, Chris, ever the racer, said that every once and a while you spin and hit the wall.  Mackie said that you can't always be a winner...
Our sweet dog Schyler hurt her leg on Friday, she ran into our patio furniture and did something to her knee, so we were at the vet most of Tuesday morning.  The prognosis is up in the air, either she will heal by herself in the next month or she will have to have knee surgery.  I am really hoping that she can heal since she turned ten this year, I don't know how well she would do with surgery now.
Ribbon share information will be posted tomorrow, so check back.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Thanks for New Toys!

Hello there!  Today's card is my goddess card for the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog.  This week's challenge is one of my favorite challenges, sketches!  Take a look at the sketch, create something beautiful, and head on over to the Stampin' Royalty to link it up!

Check out these new toys!  I have been a bit behind in getting my sneak peek new products from Stampin' Up!  I have been busy finding new fabric and paint colors.  I finally made time to order and my box of goodies arrived on Monday.  I had to use this fabulous new Soho Subway DSP for today's card.

Crisp Cantaloupe is a new in color and oh so pretty.  I sponged soft suede on the corners to make it match the DSP a bit closer.

Look what I found on my craft room table, Mackie was playing in there with her This and That journal and left this cute little bow, I thought it would fit this card perfectly, so I scooped it up and used it!

This has to be the first card that I have made in a while without using my Big Shot, just punches.  Wait till you see the new punches in the catalog, you will love them!

I heard some giggling coming from the living room on Monday night, this is what I found.  Mackie and Tate were playing with the packing paper from my SU shipment.  I always love the pictures of all of the pets playing with the paper, so I always throw mine on the floor to see if the girls will play with it, nope never, but this time I got a cute surprise!  Tate said that he was a Mummy, be still my heart!  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Birthday for the PALS

It's time for another wonderful Pals Paper Arts Challenge! This week's challenge is a sketch challenge from the lovely Margaret Moody! So, start working on your project and get ready to link up on Thursday, May 16 at over at Pals Paper Arts, I can't wait to see what you come up with.

The sketch looks a bit difficult on the first glance, but once you start to really figure it out, it is a nice easy layout.  I made another birthday card since they are flying out of the house this month.  I pulled out my Fan Fair DSP which I have sadly overlooked, and went to work.  I wanted a really feminine card, so I chose the lace patterns of the paper pack.

The sentiment is from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set, it fit the card.  The pink pirouette DSP is in a lace pattern, and the large scallop edgelit fits the lace perfectly!
Dress it up!  The dress up framelit cuts the dress, and embossed with the lacy brocade embossing folder makes it FABULOUS!
The two tone ribbon in pink pirouette/rose red is simply folded, sewn, and pulled to make this pretty decoration, that is oh so feminine!
I love how this card turned out, it is on it's way to a special friend.  Oh, how I should of used this paper more, with it on the retired list, it will be going in my sale pile, so check back after June 3rd if you would like it.
I have also decided to offer two different ribbon shares for new ribbon in the upcoming catalog, so stay tuned for that info, EMAIL ME if you would like the specifics.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Colorful May Birthday Card

Hello there!  Today's card is my goddess card for the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog.  This week's challenge is a colorful color challenge.  All of these colors have been added to the Stampin' Up! permanent line up, so grab your supplies, and head on over to the Stampin' Royalty blog to link up your creation!

May really seems to be the month for Birthdays!  A ton of birthday cards are flying out of here this month.  My new-to-me stamp set Delightful Dozen, has great sentiments, and is quickly becoming one of my go-to stamp sets.  I pulled out my scallop circle punches and created two quick circles, pierced around the large one, and paper pieced the sentiment.

The Pretty Postage stamp set is on the retired list, so grab it quick if it is a favorite.  I used the new Epic Day DSP, and Sycamore Street DSP for my background papers.

These cute little arrows were made using the new Epic Day washi tape.  I doubled it up (stuck it together) and cut it two different ways.  I secured the arrow with a single glue dot, so they stick up a bit and are fluttery.

There you have it, a colorful card using some old and new products.  We have been super busy here, and paper crafting has taken a back seat to my other love, home decor.  We are in the process of redecorating our home.  I want to keep my decor current, so out with the old colors and fabrics and in with the new.  I have been pouring over new fabric samples, and trying to come up with a cohesive color scheme for our downstairs space, which all rooms are open to other rooms, so it is a big challenge.

When the choices are made, I will sew the new curtains and pillows, and shop for accessories.  We did all of the painting previously, but since we are so busy, not to mention as young as before, we are having the painting done by a professional!  Yay, I am super excited about this part, actually I love it all, but having the painting done will be fabulous!

So, please stick with me even if I do not post as much, I still value all of your comments and feedback.  I truly do appreicate you!  I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Stamps:  Delightful Dozen, Pretty Postage
Paper:  Epic Day, Sycamore Street
Ink:  Pool Party, island indigo, calypso coral
Tools:  Scallop circle punches, circle punches, washi tape, paper piercing

For You

Hello there!  It's time for another fabulous color challenge at the Pals Paper Arts, take a look at the color combo, create something great, and head on over to link up your creation!

When I saw the color combo, I went right to my stacks of DSP, out came Tea for Two, Comfort Cafe, and Patio Party.  I punched different size circles, glued them on to a piece of very vanilla, then ran it through the big shot with the honeycomb embossing folder.

It just so happened that I had a plain lucky limeade circle at the bottom, I thought it would be a perfect spot for the new A Round Array stamp set with matching scallop punch.

Check this cute strip of paper out!  Both of these papers are from the Patio Party DSP pack, they were both on the same piece of DSP, the one with the stripes on it, I carefully cut them out, then layered them on top of each other, this was the starting point for my embossed circles.  Some fabulous satin summer starfruit ribbon, lucky limeade bakers twine, and a vintage faceted button dresses it all up.  Of course, don't forget the polka dot embossing folder!

There you have it, a fun spring like card.  I love to read all of your comments, I really appreciate all of my readers taking the time to stop by and leave some sweetness, I hope you were inspired today, enjoy!
