Spider Toxic Treats

Hello there!  I have been getting my Halloween decor out and putting it all up.  When I start to decorate, I always pull out my brand new catalogs for some design ideas.  This card came straight from the Pottery Barn catalog.  Take a look at my inspiration:

This is a table runner that is burlap (love burlap for home decor), so I immediately started looking in My Digital Studio2 to find some spiders.  I found the brush set Scaredy Cat that has two spooky spiders.  A minute later after it is was downloaded (love instant gratification), I started my page.  Here is my finished MDS2 page:

My first choice was to print it out on crumb cake card stock, but since gray is so trendy now, I opted for my basic gray card stock.  Actually, since I did not add a background color, I can print this on any color card stock I would like, LOVE THAT.

I pulled out my new Toxic Treats stamp set and stamped it with the trendy "chalk board" look.  Whisper white craft ink on black card stock.  Then through the big shot to be cut with the labels collection framelit.  A new ribbon slide holds my basic gray taffeta ribbon, and my striped basic black ribbon together.

So, a pretty simple and easy card, but oh so spooky!  Do you want to see what else I spied with my little eye in the catalog?  Take a look:

Don't you just love it?  See the tags on the candy bags?  The are plain black card stock tags, with chalk writing on them.  Here is what I came up with:

Even though the PB tags are lovely in simplicity, after stamping on the Trick or Treat and the cauldron stamp in whisper white craft ink, I felt compelled to add the rosette and ribbon.  I do plan on making a bunch more of these tags in different designs in the near future.

Look at these mustache stir sticks that we saw at the Pottery Barn store when I was doing my reconnoitering (stalking), Tate and Mackie had a fun time playing with them, we were lucky to snap this cute picture of them both.  Notice Mackie's has a "spooky greyhound" sticker on it, that's funny for us, since take a look at our spooky greyhound:

LOL, such a princess and the pea, why should she sleep on the couch when she can push the pillow over and sleep ON the pillow ON the couch?!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I really hope you were inspired to take a look at the things around you for inspiration.  I do that all the time, it really helps me get creative.  Enjoy!
