Owl Treats for You!

Hello there!  Welcome to this week's Stampin' Royalty challenge.  The challenge this week is Halloween, so any project that is for Halloween is perfect.  Head on over to Stampin' Royalty to show us what you have created!

I know that some of you are familiar with my Top Note Die Box, which is my favorite little treat holder ever.  They are so easy to make.  Instead of the top note die, I have updated it with the new window frames collection framelits.  When I cut off the bottom circle, I realized that it looked like some sort of an animal head.

Tate was in my craft room with me (helping he says) and as soon as I put the eyes on it, he said Owl immediately, so off I went to punch a nose with the pennant builder punch, and emboss the owl body with "feathers" by using the fancy fan embossing folder.

I really kept my little owl CAS, so just the eyes and beak are on the front.  I kept trying to add more, but in the end, less was better.  I used the 1 inch circle, 3/4 inch circle and the owl builder punch for the eyes.  Everything is popped up with stampin dimensional's for a 3D effect.

So for my little box, you can look back to my Top Note Die Box Tutorial to get the measurements and instructions on how to make it.  The sides I decided to dress up, so I stamped first with the bat stamp from the Wicked Cool stamp set.  I cut a 1/2 inch piece of houndstooth and scaringbone DSP for my handle, flag cut the end, added a itty bitty punch flower and some black and white bakers twine.  I did this on both sides.  Make sure you attach the handle with either sticky strip or tombo glue.

There you have it, a very quick and easy treat holder, just perfect for making a bunch to hand out to those special little trick or treaters.

Here is a picture of my special little fella, he loves to help out in my craft room.  Of course there is a LOT of cleaning up for me after a visit by him, but he enjoys it so much.

When I was taking these pictures, I also realized that after moving my craft room, I didn't share the pictures.  Would you like to see where I create?  I can put together a post for you if you are interested, so let me know, check back with me on Thursday and Friday.  I have a fabulous craft item that I made for Mackie, and I would love to share it with you all.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
