Regional Card Contest Winner!

I attended the Stampin' Up! Regional Convention in Charlotte on Saturday.  It was a wonderful experience.  There were product demonstrations, make and takes, workshop tools, WOW demos, and much, much, more.  It was nice to meet other SU demos from the area, and it was all around a wonderful day full of stamping and inspiration.  Oh, and I got to meet the Co-founder of SU, Shelli Gardner!  She is so very gracious, and very approachable, such a wonderful CEO.

So we were able to bring cards or 3D items to swap with other demos, you could bring as many as you would like and also had a chance to enter your swap into a creative challenge.  Here is my swap:

I CASED my own card that I made for the hat HERE .  I needed to make it a little more accessible using items that I had a lot of so, I switched the DSP to the First Edition DSP.  I embossed the Eiffel Tower in Black Embossing powder and sponged it with crumb cake.  The black background was embossed using the vintage wallpaper EF, then sprayed with champagne mist shimmer paint which was mixed with rubbing alcohol to give it a nice sparkle.

A little strip of crumb cake seam binding ribbon sets off the four frames stamp which was punched with the decorative label punch.  A scallop circle was punched out of the First Edition DSP, and cut in half, folded and sponged with crumb cake.  A black circle was embossed and punched on top, and a flag cut sentiment topped it all off.  Oh, and three little rose red brads just gave it the right touch.

So guess what?  It was a top three pick!  There were three winners, and mine was one!  There were such wonderful cards on display, so I was really surprised.  I wish that I could remember what Shelli said about my card, but I can't, I was in such a daze!

Here is my card on the board, you can see how great the other swaps were.  It was just a great all around experience!

My prize is a $50 shopping spree with SU, and I got this wonderful card.  I just had to take a picture, and will keep this card as a wonderful memento of a great day.

In the upcoming week, I will post more pictures of some of the swaps that I received.  A big thank you to Cindy Hall from prettyimpact.com and her friend Karen for graciously letting me hang around with them today.  I meet both of them for the first time today, and they welcomed me with open arms!
