PPA 108 CAS Soften the Edges

This week's challenge at PPA is a CAS challenge.  Soften the edges, round some edges or adorn them.  I don't know about you, but I find CAS (clean and simple) so difficult.  It truly is a challenge for me, so after THREE different layouts and different designs, here is what I came up with:

Since I love decorating for Halloween, and up until last year, had an annual Halloween Party, I thought that I could go ahead and start some Halloween projects.  The new Frightful Sight DSP is great and has a good color palette with cajun craze, basic black, basic gray, cherry cobbler and old olive.  I went right to the paper to dictate my color choice and it works rather well.

I stamped and embossed with black powder the pumpkin from the House of Haunts stamp set.  The tree is also from that set stamped in basic black on a basic gray large oval.  A black scallop circle is the base of the medallion.  I rounded the corners of the cajun craze base card stock and the DSP.

The saying is from an old pack of SU Halloween rub-ons that I thought fit this paper, so dust off those old supplies and mix them in with the new for a updated look.  The edge was rounded using the 1 1/4 circle punch, just by sticking the edge into the punch.  So a simple card, great for mailing, but still packs quite a punch!  I hope you were inspired, thanks for stopping by, enjoy!
