Pirate Party
We know a very special little boy who is turning 5, and he is having a pirate party. I got this really cute invite in the mail, who would of known that you can mail this?! So immediately I started thinking about the card I was going to make. I had ideas of incorporating the pirate ring into the card, but it broke when we were trying to take off the ring part.
So after I printed it out, (we were out of black ink, we replaced the black and then our color ink went out) on More Mustard in black ink, I decided that I can color the image using my blender pens and ink pads. I loved the artwork so much, I just used that and layered a 5 on the front.
So here is the card that I came up with, I love the whole Pirates of the Caribbean theme, so I went online and found some great art to use as my background. My husband Chris told me about this new item on Windows 7, which is called a "snipping tool", which actually lets you copy the screen and will save the picture where you want, it was very cool!

I heavily distressed it, curled the edges and made an easel card out of it, click here for a tutorial on Splitcoast. I separated the layer of Cajun Craze and used the second layer for the inside, stamped his initials and the word play stamp "you mean the world to me".
I used the Four Frames, and and an old retired Happy Birthday stamp, and punched it out with the decorative label punch. This is where I was going to put the skull from the ring, but will have to figure something else out.
I was kicking myself for not ordering the new "Open Sea" set (page 9 of the summer mini), but I am happy how this turned out. I have to say though after seeing many samples, it will be on my next order. I just love the possibilities of this new stamp set, they are endless.
