Sweet 16
Hello there! Today at the Pals Paper Arts we have a fun color challenge for you. Time to step out of the Christmas zone and into the Birthday zone for me! Take a look at the colors, create something colorful, then head on over to the PALS to link it up.
Do you ever see something that inspires you, or need a specialized card and don't have the right stamp, framelit, or punch? It happens even to me, even though I have a fully stocked craft room. What do I do? I head right to My Digital Studio. I know that I can create anything I need there, and since I now have an e-cutter, it is a snap to make whatever fits the bill.
When I first saw these stars in the November Paper Pumpkin kit, I was enchanted. Mackie was too since she took Tate in the craft room and created this card for their Elf Francisco:
I took the star garland idea to MDS and used my star digital punch, sized it down to fit the card. It was easy to program a whole row of stars, and cut them in each color I needed, it was nice to let the e-cutter do the work. I sewed them together using the same technique as my Circle Tutorial. I did make the stars a bit small so it was challenging to get them all sewn. Next time, I will program them a bit bigger.
My sentiment was also cut on the e-cutter in silver glimmer paper, a few simple words and numbers and you have a very professional look. I stamped the elegant eggplant card stock with the small butterflies from the Make a Cake stamp set under the 16 to make it stand out.
A bit of fancy embossing on the very vanilla panel was needed, the chevron and the needlepoint border embossing folders dressed it up nicely.
Can't forget the Eastern Elegance DSP in smoky slate. These colors are so elegant together, perfect for any occasion.
Believe it or not, this is the first of many Sweet 16 cards that I will be making in the future. A lot of Mackie's friends are starting to turn 16, there are at least three alone this week! Luckily I have a bunch of left over glittery 16's that didn't make it on this card, and I can make more as needed.
What do you think of the My Digital Studio/e-cutter combo? Have you tried it out yet? Most, if not all of our Stampin' Up! digital artwork comes in SVG files, so it is very easy to use with an e-cutter. You can try MDS free for one month and give it a try, you will not be disappointed!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
