Amazing Birthday

Hello there!  We have a fun sketch for you over at Pals Paper Arts this week.  Margaret Moody has come up with a challenging sketch.  Are you up to the challenge?  I am sure you are, so grab your provisions and head on over to the Pals to show us what you have come up with.

I want to share this card that was made just for my cousin Catherine, whom is celebrating her birthday (or Birthmas) today.  Happy Birthday, Catherine!

This was the part of the sketch that I found most challenging, after many Venetian Romance DSP scraps on my table, I just glued them on the best I could and went to the sewing machine and sewed them all together.

The Lovely Romance stamp set is one of my favorites, as well as gold embossing, so I had to put them together on this special card.  Do you spy the gold button?  It is actually a vintage faceted button that was smooshed on my versamark pad, then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  Quick, easy and oh so stunning.

Another bit of hidden gold, love it!

Of course, since this card is made in my new favorite card size 5x6 1/2, I needed to make a envelope with my envelope punch board, so easy to do, but makes quite an impact.

Here is a great tip for you.  I hoarded the first edition DSP when it was available, and now I find that it makes the perfect envelopes, always neutral and matches every type of cards, so if it finds it's way to the clearance rack, make sure you grab all you can.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

I know Catherine must love the attention you'll be giving her, can you imagine a Dec 25th. Birthday? Love the gold embossed elements on the card! And the shabby little flower. I hear you have a Birthday of your own around the corner!
Absolutely gorgeous, Sandie! This card is a definite show stopper. Catherine will surely love it.
