Attic Boutique Birthday

Hello there!  It's time for another Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge brought to you from our fabulous Margaret Moody!  Get your stampin' goodies ready (any brand you like) and play along on Thursday, April 19th. We can't wait to see what you create!

I interpreted this sketch as a square card, so my card is a 5 x 5 square, which gives me a little extra room to make each element stand out.

Let's start out on the flower.  I love how this flower turned out.  Mackie and I went shopping during spring break last week and I saw a flower similar to this on a shoe, can you believe it!  I had to take a picture and I just knew that I would recreate it soon.

The base of the flower is the new blossom punch, you will need two flowers, on each flower snip a little way in on each petal curve to give you the fringed look, curl inward with your bone folder.  Punch three of the largest flower on the boho blossom punch, cut and curl the same way.  Make one rolled flower using the 1 3/8 circle punch.  Stack all of your pieces up, use plenty of tombo glue to hold them together good.  A basic pearl was glued in the center.

The two side stripes are victoria ribbon and pool party seam binding ribbon that was dampened and scrunched together for a crinkly look.

The sentiment is the only part on the card that I am not crazy about how it turned out.  I clear (vanilla scented) embossed the sentiment from the curtly cute stamp set.  It does show up better in person, but is a bit difficult to see in the pictures.  Three little basic pearls are on the flag cut end.

The scallop square bigz clear die was cut in pool party and embossed with the perfect polka dot embossing folder.  The beautiful Attic Boutique DSP paper was used on the background and in the scallop square.  This paper was the starting point for my card.  I love it.

There you have it, a birthday card for a very special friend, remember the card from yesterday?  Well this card is going to her Mama whenever we can meet up.  They are wonderful friends, and I wanted to make sure they both have a special card.  Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
