Good Thoughts

Hello there!  We have a great color challenge for you this week over at the Pals Paper Arts.  Take a look at the colors, grab your provisions and create something fabulous.  Link it up at the Pals before Tuesday, to have a chance to be a Pals Pick.

I have been really into the blues lately, and paired with basic gray, it looks stunning!  My favorite part of this card has to be hands down the pool party heat embossed burlap ribbon!  It was super easy, just pat your versamark pad on the ribbon, cover with embossing powder and heat emboss. In seconds you have easily recolored your burlap ribbon to match your project.

I first saw the burlap ribbon die cut with the large scallop framelit on Kimberly Van Diepen's Stampin By the Sea blog, and fell in love with it.  I knew I would have to try it, the ribbon cuts great and looks so pretty.  I embossed then cut, but I'm sure you could do it either way.

And can I say WOW about how the silver foil paper looks after you emboss it with the decorative dots embossing folder?!  The silver foil takes on both the dots and the plastic texture, for a great look!

I found some pool party baker's twine in a past My Paper Pumpkin kit, and tied in a bow through the vintage faceted designer button adds just the right sparkle.  The silver taffeta ribbon is another favorite.

The Perfect Pennants stamp set made it into the big catalog, yay!  I love this stamp set and when paired with the matching banners framelits dies, you cannot go wrong.

The Moonlight paper stack has great patterns and colors, a must have.

So after I took pictures, edited them, sent one to Cindy Hall (love her) I tucked the right edge of the silver ribbon under my sentiment, and loved it more.  Funny how that happens when you step away and come back to it, you come up with different ideas.  Does this happen to you?

I hope everyone has a great Independence day, I am looking forward to the long weekend with family, and of course sailing.  A weekend for us would not be complete without watching Mackie do what she loves.  I really appreciate y'all coming back each post and leaving sweet comments, it's always nice to be loved.  I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Here are all of the great products that I used on this card, just click on the item for more info!
