You're My True North

Hello there!  The challenge this week at the Pals Paper Arts is a color challenge.  The colors are Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder, and Smoky Slate, so grab your provisions, create something fun, then head on over to link it up.Screen Shot 2014-03-04 at 1.09.30 PM

I thought that I would try my hand at the watercolor background that is oh so popular now.  I used our watercolor wonder paper trimmed to size, then using my aqua painter and my ink pads, I just colored on the ink from dark to light.  It was very easy, and I liked the first try.

I used three different stamp sets to get the sentiment that I wanted, Hello Sailor, Hello Lovely, and A Dozen Thoughts.  I just pieced them together.  Smoky slate chevron ribbon and night of navy stiched grosgrain ribbon helps to anchor my sentiment.

Stamped twice, once on the watercolor paper, then again on very vanilla and punched out with a circle punch.

I liked how my first watercolor card turned out, I definitely think this is more of "man card" due to the simple nature and lack of frills!  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Sandie, this is a beautiful card and so artistic. I love the stormy sky and the idea of the "compass" guiding the way through the storm. What a beautiful sentiment for this masculine card.
The water coloring is stunning. I was not going to get the Hello Sailor stamp set but I love the True North stamp. I can't wait to try my hand at water coloring now.
