Sailing Fun

Hello there!  Today's card is my goddess card for the Stampin' Royalty.  This week's challenge is my favorite week, sketch week.  I love to start with the layout already done for me, I think that is the hardest part, so when I have a layout to work with, it helps!  Check out the sketch, grab your supplies and head on over to the Stampin' Royalty to link it up.

If you saw my last post, I explained Mackie's favorite hobby, racing sailboats for her high school.  It requires a lot of traveling, but we love that.  I wanted to make a card for her to celebrate her hobby, and to tell her how proud of her we are.  I found some great sailboat punch art HERE, I made it my own, and added some bling (since Mackie loves the bling).  I used the new Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set to dress the sail up.

Anchor's away!  The new happy whale clearlits die has this great anchor, it was a must have since anything nautical is very popular in our house now.  Layered on midnight muse circle punches, then layered on real red small scallop punches, it completes my sketch.

The Comfort Cafe DSP provided my midnight muse background paper, the cloudy day embossing folder adds some clouds, some stamped waves from the Oh, Whale stamp set and a bit of baker's twine from my stash finishes it up.

I love how this card turned out, hopefully Mackie will love it too.  My husband always loves these "personalized" cards, and this one is no exception.  I might have to make a bunch of these for her teammates.

This photo was taken at a regatta in January that was in Savannah, GA.  This was a no wind day, so the sailing was very slow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you are inspired to make your own punch art, just about anything can be recreated with punches if you give it a try, enjoy!
