Red, White, and Blue Thanks

Get ready... Get set... Create! It's time for another fabulous Color Challenge over at Pals Paper Arts. This week, we're playing with some patriotic colors, to get ready to celebrate Independence Day! Join the PPA Design Team as they show off their red, white, and blue on Thursday, June 7th!

Today's card has a cool addition to it, this is a flattened bottle cap!  I ran a bottle cap through the big shot and out it came all nice and flat.  It is super easy, use your oldest cutting pads since the cap has sharp edges, flip all of your big shot platforms open, place one cutting pad, then your bottle cap face up, then another cutting pad and run it through.  Easy Peasy.

I have to say that even though there are some beautiful cards out there, I very rarely CASE cards, I just prefer to come up with my own design.  I love the Circle Circus stamp set, but I find it hard to use, so when I came across this card HERE on the splitcoast stampers site, I thought that I would give it a shot.  Thanks Adriana for the inspiration!

These words from Tiny Tags were easy to use.  I just mounted them all on a clear block, inked and stamped once.  Of course I used my stamp-a-ma-jig though for perfect placement on my card.  I did the same down the side, but now I see that the last little hello, I should of taken off.  Oh well, it happens!

I love the little added shine from the red glitter paper.  I felt that this clean and simple card needed some jazzing up.  I do like the addition of the red glitter dotted scallop ribbon border.

I used the corner rounder punch on the top left hand corner to soften the edge.  See what I mean about the last little hello on the left hand side?  Look at this picture below at an angle, it is cropped out, oh well, what can you do?

I would love to see what you come up with, so go forth and create.  This week's challenge will close next Thursday, so make sure you link your card up!  Hope you were inspired today, enjoy!

Stamps:  Circle Circus, Tiny Tags
Paper:  Whisper white, night of navy, red glimmer paper
Ink:  Real Red, Night of Navy
Tools:  Big shot, dotted ribbon scallop punch, stamp-a-ma-jig, corner rounder punch

Sandie, Thanks for letting us know how you flattened the bottle cap, and that you put all of the tiny tags onto one block to make stamping quick and easy! Love this look!

This is a wonderful composition. It's a great lesson in asymmetrical design and using small stamps I love the way you created the border with the small sentiments!
