Summer Birthday

Hello there! Here is surprise Sunday card! I took last week off from card making, and was really wanting to get back in the craft room today. I found this awesome sketch from LeAnne at The Paper Players and since I needed a Birthday card for my wonderful Aunt Pauline, I thought that this would cheer her up since she has been feeling so sick lately.

I really love the look of sewing on cards, so lately I have been having fun with it. Each panel was sewn along the edge. This is super easy to do, just attach your papers where you are not going to sew with SNAIL, and sew the edges. I personally like the sewing not to be perfect, it gives it a handmade feel.

The Summer Smooches DSP colors are so bright and cheerful. A itty bitty banner Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped in island indigo to match the DSP and die cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Some whisper white stitched ribbon makes a great bow and adds interest without taking away from the background papers.

This is a simple combo of punches. I wanted a scallop frame, instead of a scallop punch. Start with the large scallop punch, then punch the negative image with the large circle punch, you will get a little scallop circle frame. I then punched a pool party large circle and glued the island indigo frame on the circle. The Button Buddies stamp set is where the flower came from, simply stamp and punch with the smaller scallop punch, it fits perfectly. A daffodil delight button from the brights buttons is tied with some lucky limeade bakers twine.

There you have it a card perfect for a summer birthday! I really hope you enjoyed it, I was glad to get back in the craft room and just have fun with regular cards. I even finished my Wednesday Stampin' Royalty card, so nice to be ahead of schedule! Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
