Spring Kites
Hello all! Today's card is for the Stampin' Royalty challenge #117. The challenge this week is anything spring. I love the new Send Me Soaring stamp set that features kite stamps, but alas, I don't have it yet, so I decided to make my own paper kites.
Since I did not have a kite template, I thought that I would play around to see what I could come up with. I learned that you can make a nice kite shape out of rectangles. The size rectangles I used here are 1/2 wide x 3/4 tall and 1/2 wide x 1 inch tall. You need one of each size, cut diagonal, flip one side over and line up in a triangle shape for the top, and do the same for the longer bottom pieces as well. You can make your kites any size, just make sure the width is the same size, you vary the height to get the kite shape.
Some lucky limeade ribbon was curled for the kite tails. The clouds are the cupcake builder punch, and are embossed with the adorning accents EF pack. If you have any questions, email me!
The grassy hills were made using the Adorning Accents edgelets die and matching Adorning Accents embossing folder. They were also embossed with the polka dots EF, and the stripe EF. I curled the top so that they hills would stick out some.
The Happy Birthday stamp from the Curly Cute set is stamped in real red to match the border. A little itty bitty punch flower with a basic rhinestone just finishes it off. So does this card say spring to you? Remember, there are just a few days left for SAB, you can shop 24/7 at my ONLINE STORE. Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
