Paper Players #63

Welcome to this week's color challenge.  Grab your matching colors and try them out!  These are very pretty colors, and when looking at my supplies, a lot of what I have falls into the Halloween category.  Since I have been doing a lot of Halloween lately, I wanted to do a regular card.  Here is what I came up with:

I had seen this technique with this stamp set Creative Elements, and it was one of the reasons that I choose this stamp set.  I love that you can stamp the background stamp and either emboss and color, or just stamp and color in the flowers.  It does give this card a very elegant feel.

The floral vine stamp was stamped first in versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.  After cooling, I colored in the images with both rich razzleberry and old olive stampin write markers.

The ribbon flower was made using the whisper white satin ribbon.  I cut about a 24 inch long piece and made cuts every half inch or so vertically, but not all the way through.  I tried to use the heat gun to curl the edges, but I could not get it to work, so I got out my iron.  That did not work either, but it did put a little curl on the edges, so I worked with what I had.  I punched a circle punch and loaded it up with sticky strip, and stared on the outer edge, just curled the ribbon around toward the center.  I thought that the flower was pretty but I felt it needed something in the center.  So out comes my silver glass stampin glitter, and it was just what was needed.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Curly Cute, and it is also embossed in silver embossing powder.  A bit of basic gray taffeta ribbon, some polka dotted old olive and done, just enough bling for this card.

This happens to be my third try at a card for this challenge, to quote Buzz Lightyear, in Toy Story, my crafting abilities seem to be "Gone, all gone, bye bye, who hoo, see ya".  Everything I touched did not turn out good, my craft room is a mess, and I don't know where my mojo went.  So as much as I hope someone found it and is enjoying it, I would like it back please!  LOL.  I have a blog hop to prepare for on Tuesday, so I really hope I get it back.  But for now, I hope I inspired you, enjoy.

Well, third time's a charm! This is a gem. That technique just knocks the elegant meter for this card up about 10 notches. That flower is the perfect finishing touch.
