PPA 103

Hello!  Today, I am featured on Mary Fish's Stampin Pretty.  Mary is a wonderful mentor, and I enjoy pulling out all of the stops to have a special card for her blog.  She does such fabulous work, I am very proud to have my work shown on her site.  Here is the card I made especially for her, and I will also include my PPA challenge card as well.

I have seen a new trend developing lately, and that is to layer punched images on top of each other to make a medallion.  I was intrigued right away and thought that I would give it a try.  The hardest part of this trend is to know when to stop.  Of course, after I was finished with it, I thought of a few more bits, but all in all, I love how it turned out.

I do think that my absolute favorite part is the little chickens that I stamped on each scallop of the oval.  The stamp is from the set Itty Bitty Bits, it just fit perfect.  Here are the items that I used for this card:

Ink: Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, & Marina Mist Stampin’ Write Markers. Soft Suede ink pad

Paper: Belle Chateau DSP, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, & Crumb Cake cardstock

Stamps: Perfectly Penned, Itty Bitty Bits

Extras: Big Shot, Sizzix Scallop Oval die, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Stripes Embossing Folder, scallop circle punch, designer label punch, itty bitty punch pack, scallop border punch (for fan rosettes), ticket corner punch, modern label punch, linen thread, basic pearls, stampin’ dimensionals

 

 

Ok, on to my PPA challenge card which is a sketch challenge.  I loved the sketch, and had a great time using the new DSP that SU has created.

 

 

This is the new Timeless Portrait DSP, I only used the black and blue pieces on this card, but there is also Cherry Cobbler, and Island Indigo in this paper pack.  I cut out the silhouette of the little girl, and mounted it on the new designer Frames EF.  The clear embossing was done with the Friends Never Fade stamp set, the black and vanilla DSP was embossed using the Stripes EF.

 

 

The Friend stamp is from a retired stamp set (sorry don't have the name at this moment, more on that later) and was embossed in black embossing powder.  A piece of marina mist was punched with the dotted scallop ribbon border. A small crumpled flower just adds a little flair.

 

 

Whew, we have had such a weekend, I decided to move my craft room to another room in the house.  Then I decided that we would also switch my daughter to my old craft room, so after all is said and done, three rooms are in the process of being moved and redecorated.  Of course this is the best time to have the carpets cleaned, so add that on top of everything else.  My house is a wreck, and my stamping stuff is all in boxes, sniff, sniff.  Hopefully I will have everything organized and unpacked by Wednesday.  I have taken some pictures of the whole process and will post them soon.  I hope you enjoyed my projects and thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy.
