Vintage Fun

Hello there, today's card is my goddess card for Stampin' Royalty.  This week's challenge is a color challenge.  Take a look at the colors, grab your supplies and head on over to the Stampin' Royalty to link up your creation!

Crumb cake and soft suede scream "vintage" to me, so I usually always go vintage when using these colors in a challenge.  This sweet bird from Papaya Collage stamp set was stamped in not quite navy, and painted with my champagne shimmer paint.  The background was stamped with the leaf stamp also from papaya collage.  The words are a stamp from the French Foliage stamp set.  Some sponging and distressing finish it off.

A pretty butterfly was stamped and fussy cut and mounted on a circle punch, then on a cute little scallop circle punch.  Stamped again from the Papaya Collage stamp set, the name is right, the images are very collage like.  More painting, sponging, and distressing went on here too.  Some basic pearls dress this butterfly up.

The finishing touches framelit fits in perfect with the vintage theme, sponged and curled, it looks great.

Victoria crochet trim and crumb cake seam binding ribbon were crinkled up, a ribbon slide holds it all together!

I used the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch challenge for this card.  It's a great sketch, and having the layout done for you already really helps!

I really love the vintage style, you can crumple, sponge, distress, sand, etc and it all works together well.  You don't have to worry about perfect stamped images, or corners.  It really frees up your creativity, since nothing comes out "wrong".

What do you think, do you like the vintage style?  Drop me a line and let me know, it is always nice to read your thoughts and comments.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
