Ruffle Wreath Fun

Hello there!  This is a fun week over at the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week!  You can create anything and head on over to the Stampin' Royalty to link it up, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I found this fabulous wreath tutorial over at The Shabby Creek Cottage, and knew that I would have to try it out, see, I have a weakness for both ruffles and book page wreaths, so I really could not help myself.  I thank Gina so much for showing us how to make it!

I made my wreath to hang on my repurposed vintage window that sits on my mantle, but until the seasonal decorations are put away in January, it will reside on a closet door.  The beauty of this wreath is that you can make it any size you need, so I sized it to fit perfectly on my old window.

I added inch measurements so that I could keep my ruffles all aligned.

I found the perfect vintage book at the local Restore for a quarter!

I knew that I could dress it up a bit with my fabulous Stampin' Up items, so off I went to find the perfect papers to make my flowers.  Most of you might remember this flower from the Circle Tutorial post.  The Afternoon Picnic DSP fit my home colors beautifully.

Early Espresso Core'dinations paper was die cut with the floral frames framelits, then embossed with both the honeycomb and houndstooth embossing folders for some dimension to my second flower.

I love this natural ribbon flourish and it's Bermuda bay ribbon, its one of my favorite parts!

Shabby chic scrunchy ribbon bow?  I love the way it adds to the wreath, just the perfect amount of fluff!

I love my wreath here or there, it was a fun and somewhat easy project, give it a try, you will catch the wreath making bug, I definitely have!  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Sugar Skull Fun

Hello there!  Today's spooky card is my Goddess card for the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog.  It's picture inspiration week, so take a look at the picture, pick out what inspires you and grab your provisions!  Will you go spooky, or fun?

Now I am not usually a Day of the Dead fan, but Mackie has spirit week this week, and one of the dress up day themes is Day of the Dead.  So I fired up my new Silhouette Cameo and searched for a sugar skull.  This one popped up and off I went to cut it out.  I am by no means an expert on the cameo, I am still working the kinks out, but I can really see the possibilities, especially when paired with My Digital Studio.

Witches Brew DSP makes the perfect background, and the Sketch Alphabet & Numbers stamp set fits the card perfectly.  Large basic rhinestones for eyes, of course, what else would you use?

This is a nice CAS card, great for anyone, and will be easily mailed.  What about you, what do you think about the popularity of the Day of the Dead?  I have to say I like it more now after cutting out this fun skull.  I might have more projects for her dress up day, we will see.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Stamps:  Sketch Alphabet & Numbers stamp set
Paper:  Witches Brew DSP, summer starfruit and basic black card stocks
Ink:  Basic Black
Tools:  Large basic rhinestones, silhouette cameo

Halloween for the Pals

Hello there!  I have a fun sketch for you today, The pals at Pals Paper Arts are hosting sketch challenges for the next two weeks, and I don't know about you, but I love sketch challenges.  They are a perfect way to jump start your card, so take a look at the sketch, grab your provisions, create something fun and head on over to the PALS to link it up.

Fun Halloween paper was called for today's sketch, and the Witches Brew DSP delivered.  This whole sheet of 12x12 paper is filled with fun chalkboard sayings, I just want to frame and display it as is!

The Halloween Bash stamp set is perfect for layering, each layer was punched out with the matching punches and layered on a leftover circle from the Halloween Banner simply created kit, I also used a summer starfruit button and some black taffeta ribbon from this kit as well.

Witches Brew washi tape helps add my horizontal element from the sketch, and goes on super quick and easy.

Cute, cute, cute, and pretty flat which makes it good for mailing.  Here is a mailing tip for you, I usually always use the crumb cake envelopes for mailing cards (especially if they are bulky), the paper is stiffer and heavier than the white envelopes and they hold up great in the mail.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Stamps:  Halloween Bash
Paper:  Witches Brew DSP, summer starfruit and very vanilla card stocks
Ink:  Basic black, summer starfruit, pumpkin pie
Tools:  Decorative label punch, scallop oval punch, oval punch, Halloween banner simply created kit, witches brew washi tape

Halloween Treats!

Hello there !  This week's goddess challenge at the Stampin' Royalty is a fun challenge!  Any type of Halloween packaging is allowed.  I love to decorate for Halloween and make fun goodie bags, so this challenge is exactly what I needed to get in my craft room and play.  Your turn now, grab your provisions and head on over to the Stampin' Royalty to link up your creation.

I have had these tea shop doilies since they debuted in the spring catalog, but I could not figure out what to do with them, now it seems like I use them all the time.  You can dress them up or leave them plain, it's all good.

I love the Tags 4 You stamp set and matching label bracket punch, and being a bundle, it is a must get item.  I layered the punch on a scallop circle and a large circle punch, for a super easy, but layered look.

Can you spy the background?  I love the build a banner simply created kit, the stencils are very large and can be used many ways.  I sponged pumpkin pie ink on both of them, just varied the darkness.

These are just plain white small lunch type bags that you can pick up at your craft store, with them being white, you can alter them to your heart's content.

Witches Brew anyone?  The Witches Brew DSP has some fabulous patterns, check out Mr. Skeleton with rhinestone eyes.

I will fill these with candy so Mackie can give them out to friends, they are fun and easy to do.

Alrighty, what do you think?  Is this a project that you would tackle?  This is a great way to turn inexpensive white lunch bags into a fabulous treat bag.  Give it a try.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Trick or Treat Pals Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the Pals Halloween Blog Hop. We hope you enjoy our virtual trick-or treat hop where you will either learn great tricks for your creative projects or enjoy a blog candy treat.

You should have just left stop number 23 on the Pals Hop - Shirley Stumpton at Look at My Cute Stuff.  If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Today I have both a trick and a treat for you!  Check out this sweet and easy to make gift/candy bag!

My trick is how I made my main panel.  I love the Halloween Bash stamp set, and the many different ways to make it your own.  I decided that I wanted to have a bigger celebrate image, and in multiple colors, so off I went to My Digital Studio.  I "stamped" my image, made it larger, used the coloring tool to color each word, then copied and pasted three more images for a total of four images.  I chose to print at home, and selected the "fit to scale" button to make sure it would all print out ok.

Voila!  Here is the printed result!  Super easy, it took all of five minutes to create and print it.  This is perfect for those mass projects!

Layer it up with some of the fabulous Witches Brew DSP, and matching ribbon and you are ready to go!  The Tag a Bag gift bags (131370) are just perfect for fun treats, I love them, and at $3.50 for 10 bags they are easy on your budget.

They are super simple to make, you can make a whole class load of them in under an hour, I am going to tuck a full size Hershey's bar into the bag and off they will go to Mackie's friends.

Now on to my treat!  Please leave me a comment letting me know what you think about this fun and easy project, I will be giving blog candy to one lucky winner, what do you get, you ask?  My much loved retired stamp set Wicked Cool and one of these treat bags!  Leave your comment before Saturday the 12th to be entered to win.  Check back here on Sunday the 13th to see if you are the lucky winner.  Sorry, blog candy winners are limited to only US addresses.

I think this will stay on my Halloween mantel until it is time to give it away, (maybe)!

The next stop is Carmen Sublasky at the Creative Stamptuary stop number 25 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
