Summer Fun

Get ready for some refreshing colors as we play with this week's Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge! Join the PPA on Thursday, May 3rd for some fun in the sun! Hope to see you on Thursday!

These colors just bring to mind summer time.  The inspiration for this card, funny enough is an outfit that I bought for Mackie just last week.  The shorts are the prettiest coral color, and the top looks just like the background for this card, blue and white stripes.  I thought it was a great color combo, and when I saw this week's challenge and had to chuckle to myself!

The striped background is just 1/2 inch strips of baja breeze and whisper white card stock attached to the so saffron border.  I wanted a clean crisp look, so I resisted the urge to emboss it.  The scallop circle is from the Berry Blossom DSP.  A simple so saffron circle sets off the cupcake from the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the cupcake builder punch.  A couple of basic rhinestones and this cupcake is ready to go.

Baja breeze seam binding ribbon, makes a perfect double bow, that adds a bit of flair to the card, so light and summery.

The Happy Birthday stamp is from the Create a Cupcake stamp set, and look how perfectly the designer printed brad matches the scallop circle, see y'all this is why I LOVE Stampin' Up!  Everything ties in together!

Just a nice clean and simple card.  I have done the hard work for you, now you can CASE this and whip it right out, easy peasy.  I had this card in mind from the beginning, but strayed off to a bit more fussy card, and half way through, I knew that that card would be one of my artisan cards.  I stopped that card, and went back to the one in my mind.  After I was finished with this card and the picture sent off, I wondered if I should of kept this card instead.  I love how this one turned out.  Sometimes simple is better!

What do you think?  Should I have kept this one a secret?  Of course your not going to be able to compare it to my other one, yet.  I will ask the question to y'all later.  When and if I decide to enter my other card.  My collection is growing, I have TWO scrapbook pages done, another one planned out.  One of my 3D items is done, and boy wait to you see it, I really hate to part with it, it is beautiful.  My second 3D item is planned, but I am waiting on supplies.  The only thing that I am behind on is the cards, go figure!  I am working hard.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I really hope you have been inspired, enjoy!
