Congrats!

The Pals Paper Arts Pals are getting ready to play along with a simple and classy sketch by Margaret Moody. We hope you'll play along too!  Get out your crafty goodies and play along. This challenge will run until the end of the month!  Here is the sketch, I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Today's card is a larger sized card at 5 1/2 x 6.  This is a wedding card for my neighbor's daughter Abby and her soon to be husband Tim.  I wanted the card to be a little bigger than the standard A2 card size.

Check out the new items!  This is a new stamp set called Layered Labels, and it has its own matching framelit set called Apothecary Accents.  There are four stamps and four framelits.  I am using two on this card, the congrats sentiment and the large die cut that the cake is stamped on.  This is also a peek at some new in colors, this label is in primrose petals card stock and ink.  This beautiful DSP is from the new Patio Party DSP pack.

This great cake image is stamped from four new stamps from the Make a Cake stamp set.  I highly recommend the stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement!  The largest label from the apothecary accents framelits was used, I cut a second one out of midnight muse, and split it and glued it to the edges to give me a bit of border.

Even though the top of this layout is supposed to be blank sort of, I could not snip off the pretty top of the framelit.  I masked the bottom of the image and just stamped a bit of the Layering labels stamp up top to add a little interest.

Now, a word of caution, clean your stamps after every use!  I was cleaning up from yesterday's card, and dropped the whisper white inked flower fest card straight down on my sentiment.  Of course there was white still on the stamp and I had to redo my sentiment.  If you take a real close peek at the top, you can see where I touched up the midnight muse with ink from my finger.  Another note, the new ink does NOT come off fingers very well.

Now usually for a wedding card, I would go all out and frilly, but this bride is not a "frilly" type of gal, and this wedding is super casual, they even included a very sweet note about wanting the guests to be casual and comfortable, and guess what?  The wedding invites are white, and what looks to be a match to both baja breeze and midnight muse, just perfect for this DSP.  Here is a peek at the invite:

See what I mean, just casual elegance!  The beauty of making your own cards, is that you can customize the card to whatever you might need.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Very pretty card, Sandie! Love how you used the Framelits for both your image and the sentiment!

you knocked this project out of the park with products from the enw catalog. i'm totally eyeballing the way you split the label to create a border. did you cut it up the middle (top to bottom on your card)?
