Birthday Boy

Hey there, thanks for joining me for this week's Stampin' Royalty challenge.  Today's challenge is masculine cards, so grab your supplies and head on over to Stampin' Royalty and show us what you have come up with.

This card has been in my head for a while now.  Most of you know that my husband works on a Nascar Sprint Cup team, so we watch the races faithfully every week.  We always support my husband's team, so it is with great chagrin that the inspiration for this card came from a competitor's car design.  I just couldn't help it, I just love the blue and white stripes.  I added some real red in though to break up the two colors. and give it a bit of a kick.

The center panel was made from a rectangle that I cut at an angle to give me a different shape.  I attached the midnight muse stripes and trimmed off the edges.  I then mounted it on real red and trimmed to give me a border.

The Happy Birthday is from the new Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, and is die cut with the matching bitty banners framelits, the whisper white flags were also cut this way.  The midnight muse flags are just a piece of cardstock scored twice and folded back to pop up.  The edges were flag cut with my square punch.

The whisper white background was embossed with the houndstooth embossing folder.  This embossing folder is perfect for masculine cards, I love the look it gives.

There you have it, a nice CAS masculine card perfect for any birthday.  This card is pretty flat, and should be nice and easy to mail, that is one benefit to both CAS cards and masculine cards, no extra postage!  Thanks for stopping by, hope you were inspired, enjoy!

Paper:  Midnight Muse, Real Red, Whisper White

Love your card Sandie! I thought it was very nautical, but love the nascar inspiration. We have been getting into it lately, since there is no football to watch and I have been enjoying it. Anyhow, so glad to have you part of the Goddessess!
