Good Luck Garrett!
Hello there! We have our Pals Paper Arts challenge today, it is a sketch layout, one of my favorites, I love a great starting off point! Take a look at the fabulous Margaret Moody sketch, create something fun and head on over to the Pals Paper Arts to link it up, but hurry, you only have until the link closes on Monday, July 22nd.
This card was made just for 12 year old Garrett who is right now making his way to Scotland to sail his Opti pram, which is a small one person sailboat. Garrett qualified to represent the USA at the British Nationals which is a big deal!
I took some liberties with the sketch, since I wanted to spell Garrett's name in nautical flags. The flags are 1x1, it was simple to make the flags I needed using strips of scrap paper. His "e" to his name is behind his Opti, but in a call right before he left, he said that he figured it out and thought it was so cool that his name and sail number were on the card.
Check out this sweet little boat, I used the large oval punch mostly, and just trimmed out what I needed. His sail numbers are 18100, the Designer Typeset Photopolymer stamp set is just perfect for those small numbers.
Pennant Parade stamp set provided the wish big sentiment. I choose colors that matched the nautical flags, daffodil delight, midnight muse, real red, and smoky slate.
I know this is not your typical card, but it is one that is from the heart and personalized to the receiver. That is what I love about card making, you can do anything you want to make it a cherished memento that will be saved. I love these cards the very best!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
