I AM.....

I Am... is the theme of the Stampin' Up! Convention this year.  This is my first convention, so I AM really excited to be here.  I only decided to go a few weeks ago so I did not have a chance to prepare a lot of swaps.  I did however, finish 25 swaps for the artisan finalists, stampin' up! design team and Shelli Gardner, who is the CEO of Stampin' Up!  Let's talk about PRESSURE!  These swaps had to be full card WOW swaps, and boy was it challenging.  Take a look at what I finally came up with:

Do you recognize these colors?  They are on the back of the new catalog, summer starfruit, primrose petals, and pink pirouette.  I really love how they went together so prettily.  I used a ton of supplies on these cards, and a whole roll of ribbon!  WOW.

As soon as I saw the new Fan Fair DSP had this pretty lacy paper, I got out my new large scallop edgelit, and yep, perfect fit, don't you just love how all of the products coordinate together?!  I knew that this would be a focal point on my card.  I added two more rows of embossed scallops to tie all the colors in.

Here is that beautiful ribbon that is all gone now.  The primrose stitched satin ribbon is so thick and satiny and gorgeous, I will definitely have to order some more.  My girl Mackie made all of the little rolled flowers, she thought that they would be pretty on this card, so I put her right to work!  She did a great job.  The new chevron embossing folder makes this card "modern vintage'.

This new stamp set called Stippled Blossoms makes the most beautiful flowers.  The flowers were stamped on shimmery white card stock, and it is beautiful.  It is hard to tell in the pictures, but it has a very pretty shine.  I unfortunately used a whole pack, and am only left with one sheet.

I knew that I wanted to use the sentiment from Just Believe and could not figure out a way to layer it.  I was stumped, later on that afternoon, Tate was playing in my craft room, and ran up and handed me this oval from the lots of tags sizzlits and said "here Mommy", it was perfect!  He knows that he is not supposed to play with my craft stuff, but this time I am glad that he did!

This is the inside of the card, since this is a card for the artisan finalists, I wanted to congratulate everyone on all of their hard work.  It is truly an honor!

Awards were held last night, and I was not chosen as an Artisan Award winner this year, but I will try again next year.  I have had a few days to come to terms with it, and even though it is a disappointment, I still feel very honored to make it this far.

Stampin' Up! has kept us very busy and with the time difference, I have not had a chance to blog, I am sorry friends, I will try to get something out tomorrow.  I really appreciate all of your kind words and comments!  Thanks so much for being part of my blog family!  If you have any questions about this card, or questions in general, don't hesitate to ask, I am only an email away!  Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
