Pink Ombre Birthday
I have been very busy in my craft room lately, we have a lot of birthdays this time of year. This card is heading towards my sister for her birthday on the 4th. We both share our mom's love of pink, so I knew an ombre background would be fun.
I started off with this great sketch from Freshly Made Sketches I will usually always start a card with a sketch, it is a great starting point.
Can you see the ombre? It's very subtle, I started with three rows of powder pink circle die from the flourish thinlet set, then two rows of blushing bride, and two of flirty flamingo. It is very easy to get them lined up and glued down, the hardest part was figuring out the colors I wanted to use.
Oh the flirty flamingo ribbon, is so pink and pretty! I gave it a fancy fold, die cut gold foil leaves from the same flourish thinlets set and topped of with a pretty flower.
I thought it would be fun to do a shaker card, and the everyday jars framelits makes it pretty easy to do. I filled the shaker with flowers, hearts and sequins.
But my favorite part is the heat embossed metallic top. I heated a few layers of gold embossing powder just on a square of paper, then stamped my jar top stamp before the gold set, let my stamp sit for a second, and pulled it off. I let it cool for a bit, then die cut it with the jar framelit. It has great texture and color!
I am still trying to fine tune my pictures here at my new house, I needed to take advantage of the front door light and decided to shoot the pictures on the floor. My girls wanted to be in the action, and were constantly walking in my shot. This one is cute and gives you an idea of their sweetness!
