Hexagon Love

It's time again for another Pals Paper Arts challenge! Join the PPA design team as they play with the new In Color, Summer Starfruit in this fun summer combination on August 2nd!

Hexagons are all the rage in the crafting world.  I was really hoping that SU would come up with a punch or maybe some framelits, but not yet, hopefully they will soon.  So, I made my own.  It was easy, I printed off a hexagon template, cut it out, and traced my shape on my DSP and card stock.  Since the cuts are straight edges, it went pretty quickly.

I used Patio Party and Summer Smooches DSP for my summer starfruit and real red.  I used regular marina mist card stock and embossed it with the fancy fan, chevron, and the houndstooth embossing folders.  All of the hexagons were popped up using stampin dimensionals to give me a 3-D look.

I had this great hexagon stripe going on, and I was a bit stumped on what to do for the sentiment.  Out came my two new favorites, From My Heart stamp set, and the Apothecary Accents framelits.  A great sentiment that did not take up to much space.  Two itty bitty punches with mini brads just add a little bling.

Don't forget to check out the new holiday mini catalog, my supply of new toys arrives today, so look for new projects soon.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you are inspired, enjoy!

Stamps:  From my heart
Paper:  Patio Party DSP, Summer Smooches DSP, marina mist, whisper white, & real red card stock
Ink:  Marina Mist
Tools:  big shot, itty bitty punch pack, fancy fan, chevron, and the houndstooth embossing folders, apothecary accents framelits, mini silver brads

Hi Sandie! The title of your post just says it all! I'm also smitten with hexagons right now and when you pair them with these fabulous colors...I am swooning over here! Great tips on creating the shapes, too.

Before I go, I wanted to tell you what a BLAST I had hanging out and visiting with you at Convention. I can't wait to go back! So how much did your kiddos miss you? Hope you had a great week! Let's catch up soon, friend! Hugs! :)
