Thank You Circles

It's time to for another fun and fresh challenge over at Pals Paper Arts! This week, we're playing with a sketch by Margaret Moody. What kind of fun things can you create with these circles?! Get out your crafting goodies and get started!  The challenge goes live on Thursday, June 21st. Be there, or be square! (Get it? Cause we're playing with circles...?)

This is a sneak peek at the new 2 step stamp set Reason to Smile that will be available in July for only $5.00 with your $50 purchase.  How great is that?!  A $5.00 stamp set is ALWAYS a reason to smile!  I punched the flowers out with my large circle punch, then used my circle cutter to make a little larger circle.  The scallop circles die 2 was used for the scallop circle and then embossed with the chevron embossing folder.

I love all of the circles on this card, they are everywhere, from the Summer Smooches DSP, to the main circle, and the sentiment circle stamped from Pretty Postage.  I decided that just the lucky limeade and island indigo worked well together.

A bit of whisper white satin ribbon provides both the element on the sketch and breaks up the blue and green.  This is a CAS card, but jeez, it took me a long time to do, I just kept trying different elements and colors to see what worked the best.  It is funny how sometimes the simplest looking cards take the longest!

Now, I can think of a few things to add to this card, like using the new paper piercing mats to outline my large circle, or say add three mini brads to the top of the left hand corner, but nooooo when I was making this card I had a total mind blank and since I was under a time crunch, I called it done.

I have been working on a tutorial for you, and should have it posted tomorrow, its called "Framelits 101", I will have some tips and tricks for you using the new framelits.  So stop back by to take a look.

Here are some pictures looking out my craft room window, it is so inspiring just to sit a bit and look.  We have all kinds of animals at any given time.  Birds are by far the most prevalent, but today I also saw a humming bird on the butterfly bush.  We get bunnys, chipmunks, squirrels, birds, and have fish in the pond, we even had a snake that was squatting by the pond.  Chris caught it and relocated it to the neighborhood pond since Tate is always playing around the pond.  It was just a garter snake, but still I did not want him to get bit.

The pond is in the bottom right hand corner, I will have to get more pictures of it later.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I really hope you were inspired!

Love the color palette on this card! Very 70's! I also love that you simply relied on the color of the outline to provide the flower color. Nice!
