In the Cat Bird Seat

Hello there!  I was a bit stumped when it came to making my husband his Father's Day card this year.  Last year I did a card with hops on it, and I want to make another special card this year.

This is not actually a card.  It's a bit of an art piece that I am going to have framed for his poker room.  The story behind this, is that as most of you know, my husband Chris works on the Sprint Cup race team, Stewart-Haas Racing.  We watch the races every Sunday, and quite a few times this year, we heard the commentator Darrell Waltrip talk about "sittin' in the cat bird seat", so every time Chris heard that, he would say that he wanted a cat bird seat and where can he get one?  So I made him one to put on the wall.

This is actually a hybrid card, the cat and bird came from My Digital Studio, I just chose my colors and printed them out.  A bit of cutting and some mini brads, and done, nice and easy.

This sentiment was also done in MDS, the Comfort Cafe DSP fit my colors, midnight muse, summer starfruit, early espresso, just perfect. The retired star bigz die added just the right shape.

Look at all of this texture!  The new chevron embossing folder, and the new finishing touches edgelit are so fancy.  The square lattice embossing folder and the decorative label punch are back for another year, YAY!

When I find a frame, I will probably mount this on another piece of card stock, to make it fit right.  I hope you see that you can make anything with your supplies, not just cards.  You can find these supplies and more at my ONLINE STORE.  I hope you were inspired today, enjoy!

Paper:  Comfort Cafe DSP, midnight muse, summer starfruit, early espresso, naturals ivory
Ink:  Early espresso
tools: MDS, big shot, chevron and square lattice embossing folders, finishing touches edgelits, star bigz die, mini brads, decorative label punch
