Birthday Candy

Hello there!  Today's Stampin' Royalty challenge is a picture challenge.  Take a look at this fun picture, grab your supplies and head over to Stampin' Royalty to show us your take on this SWEET picture.

As soon as I saw this picture, I went straight to my favorite color palette.  I love pinks and greens together so I choose melon mambo and wild wasabi.

I am not sure if these "wrapped candies" would actually be identified as candy without the explanation!  I was trying to come up with my own variety, and it is a bit candyish.  I started with the Circle Circus stamp set for the centers.  I heat embossed with both melon mambo and wild wasabi embossing powders on whisper white card stock.  The "wrapper" is the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the matching Blossom punch.  I used the vanilla scented clear embossing powder for a sweet smell.  I snipped two petals for each side, curled them a bit and glued them on to the layered circle.

A bit of pretty in pink was flag cut to break it up.  Some wild wasabi was cut using the new finishing touches edgelits and bordered the pink just perfectly.  A happy birthday sentiment from the Create a Cupcake stamp set was heat embossed with melon mambo embossing powder and punched with the word window punch.  A wild wasabi modern label punch and a new vintage faceted button dresses it up.  I can't forget my new favorite embossing folder, the chevron folder is so new and hip.

My card today is made using the scallop square bigz die.  I simply cut two pieces, scored one at the top about a half inch down and glued the top pieces together.  Fold the score and your card will open.  This is a great trick when making a shaped card, it works great.

So what do you think, do they look like candy?  I hope so, either way this will be a fun, cute birthday card for someone to enjoy.  All these supplies and more can be found anytime at my ONLINE STORE.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you were inspired, enjoy!
