First Video Tutorial, Blog Candy, & FMS1

Well I finally did my first video tutorial on the paper bow technique.  I have had a lot of questions and interest so I finally buckled down and did it.  I have to say right now, that having a teenager in the house is very helpful when doing anything computer related.  My girl Mackie, zipped right through the editing, added opening credits, bits of captions, and added the snazzy song at the end.  So, please bear with me while I am learning, I know the video is not the best, but I am sure I will improve in time!

My husband Chris did set up the camera, and you can even hear Tate in the background, it was a family affair!  This bow technique is not my original creation, I found the tutorial HERE at Van Laar Designs, Heidi has some beautiful cards, and I thank her for sharing her bow and inspiring me.

This card was made using the very first Freshly Made Sketches .  This is a new sketch challenge blog, and I am looking forward to participating!

I am not by nature a CAS kinda girl, but I thought that I would give this sketch a try.  My inspiration was Mackie's new room which is light purple, black and white.  This bit of First Edition DSP was left over from a project we are working on to cover some old frames to make them work in her new room.

Here is the bow that I just showed you how to make on my video tutorial, see I told you it was easy!

Since I am trying to follow the rules, I kept all of my decorations to a minimum!  Just clean layers (I hope).  If you have any questions about which products I used, just email me!

Now on to the Blog Candy!  In celebration of my first video, I have a nice bundle of 6x6 SU Sweet Pea retired DSP with matching Sweet Pea Felt flowers, and two different types of Chocolate Chip ribbon, a yard of white stitched chocolate chip, and a yard of poly 1/4 inch.  So how do you qualify for the Blog Candy?  Just leave me a comment on this post, and let me know what you think about my new video and the bow technique.  All entries must be in by Friday, Sept 16, at midnight EST, I am sorry but the blog candy is open only to US and Canada residents.  I will make my winner announcement on Saturday, September 17th.  Remember, you can shop SU 24/7 by clicking on my SHOP SU WITH ME button.  I hope I inspired you, enjoy!

Great video! Nice family job :) . Love your bow! However, I was wondering, does this bow resist the envelope? I mean: does it stay like that or does is fold down? Thank you for sharing!

I think you did a great job demonstrating the bow technique! It was very clear and easy to follow and understand. I especially liked the tip about using the bone folder to curl the paper. I'll bet that will come in handy for other projects, too. Well done! : )
