PPA 106 Dress For Success
This weeks PPA challenge is Dress for Success. Dressing for Success is easy as 1-2-3 this week at Pals Paper Arts. Follow our simple recipe to success: Use 1 piece of designer series paper, 1 punch and 1 sentiment.
I really tried to stay within the challenge guidelines, but when I was assembling the card, I realized that I used the ticket corner punch in addition to the modern label punch. Oh no, I was really trying hard to follow, I must of had a mind blank during the creative process.
The beautiful SDSP Flirtatious was used for the one piece of DSP. The Kindness Matters stamp set which is one of my favorites and so very affordable at $8.95 (clear mount) was my star of the card. The butterfly stamp was stamped in early espresso ink and colored with the pretty in pink, melon mambo, pumpkin pie, and early espresso stampin write markers. The sentiment was stamped in early espresso on a scrap of the SDSP, and punched with the modern label punch. I knew that I wanted to have a scalloped edge at the bottom, but since the challenge was 1 punch, I found an alternative.
In this stamp set, there is a half round doily stamp, and after some practicing on scrap, I drew a straight line in pencil on the card base and stamped a row of doilies in melon mambo, instant "scallop" border. Erase the line when you are finished and layer up your paper for a fabulous look! A piece of early espresso satin ribbon, just went perfect down the middle.
I hope you enjoyed my challenge card today, my favorite part of the card is the stamped scallop border. Which is your favorite? I love to read your comments. Hope you were inspired, Enjoy!
