Hats are super popular, especially this mini top hat.  My daughter Mackie and I first saw the "headband" mini top hats on Glee, then after the royal wedding, hats of all kind are a hit.  I do credit my daughter Mackie for today's hat and the choice of the new SDSP Mocha Morning that was used.  I was a bit stumped on what to do, and I asked her if she had any ideas.  She thought for a while and suggested a hat.
I built the top hat out of plain black cs, the top is a 3 1/2 inch circle and the base is a 5 inch circle.  I embossed both with black embossing powder using the scroll stamp from Baroque Motifs.  After I assembled the hat, I cut a strip of the beautiful black flocked Mocha Morning SDSP and attached it.  Crumb cake seam binding made the trim and a tail was left in the back.
The rich razzleberry flower was made using the pennant punch.  The pennant was crimped, crumpled, separated.  I snipped at the base so I could curl and glue to form each petal.  I assembled the flower on a 3/4 circle and curled the ends under.  I made my own button with a punch of the SDSP layered on black cardstock and punched two button holes with my crop-a-dile.  I then threaded rich razzleberry ribbon and tied a knot, and topped it of with a basic rhinestone.  I thought that the flower needed more, so I frayed and twisted some crumb cake ribbon to get some texture.  Black ribbon and more of the rich razzleberry ribbon was layered behind it all.  We do need to get a black headband, then I will figure out a way to attach it, and Mackie can have fun with it.
I made a matching card, just because I love the paper and color scheme.  I used basic black and embossed it with the stripe EF.  Before I ran it through though, I inked the folder with my versamark pad.  After I embossed it, I put some black embossing powder on it and heat embossed it.  It was not perfect, it would be better to brayer the versamark on after using the stripes folder for a more precise  look.
The sentiment was flag cut and stamped with the cherish stamp, the decorative label with the medallion stamp both are from the Baroque Motifs stamp set. A bit of crumb cake seam binding ribbon makes the bow. The itty bitty punch pack was used for the small flowers. I left the inside blank for now since this can be used for any type of sentiment.
