Matchbook Album

As a SU Demonstrator, I enjoy some great perks.  One such perk is a monthly magazine called Stampin' Success that has great ideas and projects.  This matchbook album was one project that I knew my wonderful customers would love.  Of course, I made it my own with different embellishments and colors that went with the Flirtatious DSP.

Keep in mind that I have not placed my pictures yet, I am still trying to take some pictures of my daughter for this album (more on that at the end of the post).  I will then place some additional embellishments, ribbon knots, and layered flowers on the pictures.  This is the outside, the cover flap tucks into the bottom matchbook style.

There are two pages folded so a total of 8 places to put pictures. I mainly just stamped the top portion and put more detailed papers on the bottom flap for my picture base.

Ok, here are the details on how to make this album:

One piece of 11 x 4 1/4, scored longways at 4 3/4 and 10, for your cover
(2) 8 1/2 x 4 scored at 4 1/4 for inside pieces, I used whisper white and decorated my blank pages

To assemble, lay your finished pieces together on the middle fold and punch a small hole (pin size) through all pages 3/4 from the edge on each side on the fold line.  Take a big craft needle, and thread some bakers twine through the the holes and tie a knot to secure the pages and cover together.

Fold up the bottom piece and attach with sticky strip at the very bottom fold only half way up so that way you can tuck the cover in to close.  Embellish as much or little as you choose, I used the Victoria crochet trim, but it is just a decoration, not functional.

I was trying to take pictures of my girl Mackie, but she was not in the mood.  The pictures started out cute and turned to grumpy.  I thought that I would post one of each.  Ahh, teenage angst!

And to answer my question from my last post, the blues card was WAY more work than the pink and orange card.  All of that stamping, cleaning, and punching took much, much longer.  Please drop me a line to let me know what you think about this album, I love all of the comments, and of course if you have any questions, also let me know!  Enjoy!
